Accessibility Statement
Our commitment
We firmly believe that the internet should be available and accessible to anyone and are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the broadest possible audience, regardless of ability.
To fulfill this, we aim to adhere to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 (WCAG 2.2) at the AA level. These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with a wide array of disabilities, including people who are blind or have low vision, people with motor impairments, and people with cognitive disabilities.
How this website supports accessibility
Accessibility is built into the website itself, rather than added through an overlay. This includes:
- A “Skip to main content” link as the first item on every page, and consistent page landmarks (header, navigation, main content and footer).
- Full keyboard operation: menus open with Enter or Space and close with Escape, and a clearly visible focus indicator shows where you are.
- A logical heading structure on every page, so screen-reader users can move through content by heading.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images, including descriptions of our illustrations.
- Text and interactive elements that meet WCAG AA colour-contrast requirements.
- Labelled form fields, with clear error messages that are announced to assistive technology and linked to the field that needs attention.
- Layouts that adapt to small screens and to text enlarged up to 200%, and respect for your device’s “reduce motion” setting.
The website is tested with automated tools and by keyboard, and is designed to work with screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver and TalkBack in current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge.
Third-party content
Some services we link to are provided by third parties, including our membership application, newsletter sign-up, online reservations and Instagram. We do not control the accessibility of those services. If you have difficulty using any of them, please contact us and we will help you directly.
Feedback and assistance
Despite our best efforts, some pages or content may not yet be fully accessible. We are continually improving and welcome your feedback. If you experience any difficulty accessing information on this website, or would like information in an alternative format, please contact info@harbourclubmia.com. Please describe the page and the problem, and we will respond as quickly as we can.
